Hypnotherapy is a wonderfully effective and lasting way to manage weight but before undertaking any treatment, it is important to be sure that there are no medical reasons for being either over or under weight, for example thyroid deficiency, the use of certain medications or in extreme cases something more serious for which expert medical advice should be sought.
Assuming medical advice has been sought, should you be experiencing excessive or rapid increases or losses in weight and any physical health problem has been ruled out but you are still unable to control your weight no matter how hard you try, there may be some underlying, deeper psychological reason for this. Maybe you find yourself comfort eating or conversely, not eating at all at times of stress, maybe you even feel addicted to a particular type of food and find any excuse to reward yourself with it, or perhaps you have tried every diet in the book but after a while you have either dropped off or the moment you have reached your target weight, you quickly revert back to your old bad habits and the weight piles back on again.
If however, you find yourself among those people who simply wish to lose weight and maintain that weight loss but lack will power, it is as a general rule because dieting for most people equals deprivation and deprivation equals craving all the more, whatever is being denied, thus making losing weight and staying one’s ideal size, literally a lifetime’s uphill struggle, especially when others around can often seem to be able to eat whatever they want without ever putting on an ounce plus it is commonly recognised that the more a person diets and regains weight, the more weight they seem to put back on each time, which can be a contributory factor in more serious health problems such as diabetes and heart disease. With my Suggestion Therapy, bad eating habits can easily be reversed into good, long-term eating habits, perhaps coupled with the incentive to do a little healthy exercise if appropriate, because your hypnotherapy session will be tailored to your own specific needs, maximising your chances of permanent success.
There are of course more serious weight/eating disorders such as Anorexia & Bulimia for example, where poor body image plays a key role. These types of condition and others less severe, where a person ‘emotionally’ over or under eats can very successfully and effectively be treated using my Analytical Therapy – see ‘What I Do’.
So whether your will power is not as strong as you would like and you just need to kick start a healthier eating programme or if you feel you need more help to conquer your own particular weight battle, then I would be very happy to discuss with you, how best I can help you to achieve your goal.
